First of all: this is NOT an Ipad. There is no need to compare them, before you decide what to buy. If you can spend five times the cost of this Arnova, bu all means do. For the rest out there: this will do just fine.

Cons:
- It doesn't support Android Appstore.
- It doesn't support srt.
- Sometimes the screen doesn't respond to the touch as fast as I would like.
- No video-call. And if you try to, the camera stops working (just reset and don't try videocalling again).
- Battery reading is not very accurate.
- Not very comfortable for writing at length. Maybe a quick reply to your messages.
- User manual could be printed on a postage stamp.

Pros:
- Surf the net? Check (I recommend Dolphin).
- Read ebooks? Check.*
- Office files (word, excel, pdf)? Check.
- Listen to music? Check.
- Watch videos? Check.
- Available apps to do the basics and some more? Check.

I received the android tablet as a birthday present and despite the fact that my husband did lots research and read lots of reviews, it just didn't work for us. We managed to connect wirelessly very briefly and then had absolutely no success; we even tried at a friend's house who have a different internet provider, but to no avail. Despite that, Amazon we're really helpful and prompt with their returns policy and the thing I did like about the tablet was it's size and clear screen display, it just wasn't for us.

I bought this device from HMV, after seeing it discounted by a large margin. Initially I was not happy with it, especially at the lack of android market. However, after a quick search of the web I found an easy method of installing the market - and since then its been great, if a little laggy on occasion.

Overall, a fine device.
